Atomic Blue Productions was created by Ryan Pagella and Maddy Myers in 2012. The name “Atomic Blue” is based on the character of a similar name, Atomic(a) Blue, from the first project they worked on together in 2002, D-Men.
Ryan and Maddy have been a creative team for 18 years. Ryan brings his creative eye with the lens to the table, providing photography and videography. Maddy is a musician, audio master and post-production guru. Together, they provide event coverage, film, podcasts and live events for Atomic Blue Productions. Most importantly, they make each other laugh and have a great time working together on projects.
Ryan comes from a background where he spent years working tech for his mother who owns her own studio business, Impulse Dance Center. He attended MassArt College for comic book illustration, but changed his career path toward film and photography. He has worked on film, staged shows, and high volume events. He directed many shows and events for a local convention, ConnectiCon, eventually taking on the role of Vice President for his last two years with the team. After 8 years, Ryan left the convention scene to work as the Studio Manager of Carla Ten Eyck Photography & C10 Studios. He does Monster make-up FX on the side for film and shows, and is currently part of the creative team for Evidence of Evil.
Maddy is currently an editor at the Mary Sue, where she does entertainment reporting and makes videos. When she isn’t writing articles and making videos, she writes music and plays the keytar in a nerdcore pop-rock band called the Robot Knights. Formerly, she has worked as the Assistant Editor of Paste Magazine’s games section. She previously co-starred in a comedy web series called “Samus and Sagat” hosted by Destructoid. Before that, she worked as a journalist for the Boston Phoenix. Her freelance writing has appeared at Offworld, iMore, Kill Screen, Gameranx,The Border House, Slice of MIT and MIT Technology Review.
